PSA/DNA Babe Ruth Signed Card 1944 Autograph RKO George Murphy Visitor’s Pass
A Babe Ruth autograph/signature obtained in 1944 by a 14 year old Caroline Guy who was visiting her brother in law who worked for RKO studios at the time. Babe Ruth happened to be on the RKO studio lot that day visiting Gary Cooper who was filming “CASANOVA BROWN”, whom he had previously worked with at RKO during the filming of “THE PRIDE OF THE YANKEES”. The visitor’s pass for that day was signed by none other than George Murphy who was a Hollywood singer & actor at the time and later went on to become a U. There is a personal statement from Caroline Guy engraved at the bottom of the frame which states that. On March 13, 1944 I was 14 and visiting my brother in law who was an assistant director at R. Among the stars I met and obtained their autographs was Babe Ruth. The autograph is remarkably straight, in pencil and looks just as bold today as it would have looked in 1944. Frame measures 16.25″ x 10.75″. Babe Ruth card w/ signature measures 5.75″ x 4″. RKO Visitor’s card w/ signature measures 4″ x 3″. Caroline Guy (East) of Granada Hills, CA passed away on November 18, 2017 and her husband of 65 years has asked me to sell this for him.
