Amelia Earhart, Pancho Barnes, Debi Stamford Signed 8x10 Photo PSA/DNA Authentic

The tri-fecta when it comes to the 3 famous woman of Aviation who have signed this 8×10 photo. Earhart was an aviation pioneer and author. Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She received the U. Distinguished Flying Cross for this record. Earhart joined the faculty of the Purdue University aviation department in 1935 as a visiting faculty member to counsel women on careers and help inspire others with her love for aviation. She was also a member of the National Woman’s Party, and an early supporter of the Equal Rights Amendment. During an attempt to make a circumnavigation flight of the globe in 1937 in a Purdue-funded Lockheed Model 10 Electra, Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island. Fascination with her life, career and disappearance continues to this day Pancho Barnes was a pioneer aviator, the founder of the first movie stunt pilots’ union. In 1930, she broke Amelia Earhart’s air speed record. Barnes raced in the Women’s Air Derby and was a member of the Ninety-Nines. In later years, she was known as the owner of the Happy Bottom Riding Club, a bar and restaurant in the Mojave Desert, Southern California, catering to the test pilots and aviators who worked nearby. He third pilot is Debbie Stamford. She was a contestant in the 1931 women’s air derby known as the “Powder Puff” derby. She’s definitely a very minor figure compared to the other two. So nice of someone to go out of their way and help. The third woman’s name was Debie Stanford, and she had a tragic life as an aviator. Born in Indianapolis, Stanford learned to fly in 1929 and just a short time later was running a Houston area flight school that catered to women pilots. She competed in the 1931 Powder Puff Derby air race and managed to place 7th, no mean feat for that era. In 1932, she and a fellow pilot Ruth Stewart planned to set a record by flying from St. Louis all the way to Buenos Aires, Argentina. The attempt was cut short when they crashed west of Harrisburg and both were killed. Stanford was only 29 years old.
